We've had some nice comments on our Medallion and banner. We were even told they would like to have it on a cup or T - Shirt!
Well, we found a way to offer this and here's our first item. I don't think we're wrong to start with Happy Christmas (in Gailge). Be patient with us as we sort out how to do more.

The bodhrán (pronounced bow'-rahn) is the heartbeat of Irish music. There is differing opinions as to the origins of the bodhrán, one theory suggests that in ancient Ireland, and until the 1950's, a skin tray or sieve that was used for sifting may be the beginnings of the bodhrán. Oddly among the names for this tray was bodhrán. The Irish word Bodhran can mean "tray" or "thundered," "deafening" or "dull sounding." Noticing that the skin tray produced a soft rhythmic sound, the bodhrán was developed. Sean O Riada was one of the first to describe the bodhrán as Ireland's native drum.
For the serious player, this fully tunable 18" bodhran is made from very heavy goatskin and features tuning keys within the frame for altering the skin tension and changing the tone.

Can't Find it?!
Our Shops are compiled from what we know and like. If you can't find what you're looking for read on.

Irish Shop, US & Ireland.
General, they carry Heritage Crystal (offshoot of Waterford), clothing, much else and have an inordinate number of pub & den signs. They do not carry any foodstuffs or perishables.

LollySmith, US.
General, with many items that are hard to find, such as Blackthorn walking sticks. The best Guinness collection (& prices) we've seen. They also carry a great sense of humour.

Celtic Attic, USA
They carry a wide variety of products from food to fashions, and, as the name implies, they aren't exclusively Irish. Enjoy browsing and discovering unusual items such as Celtic sea salt and a genuine St. Brigid's Cross made in Ireland of river rushes.

Simply Irish, Ireland.
General, no clothing but nice Irish Linen. Jewellry - including heraldic rings & pendants, Connemara marble, music and more.

Celtic Shamrock, US.
General, Belleek China, Galway Crystal, fun stuff and, not so commonly, - candles, food hampers & the irish Flag!

Creative Irish Gifts Many unique products you won't find any where else. Best of all, part of their profits help support the Irish Children's Fund which fosters understanding between Protestant and Catholic youngsters in Northern ireland.

Waterford
The name says it all - Waterford is the leading brand of premium crystal. Its products - superb handcrafted crystal stemware, giftware and lightingware - are designed and manufactured to the highest standards.
You will see other items on these pages not from any of the above shops. They are truly unique sources. If you are interested in these 'one of a kind' items, just click on what you see and find out what other items (if any) they may offer.
