"A Little History of Ireland" is crisply written and gives a succinct summary of Ireland's past. The Michelin Map is a motoring and tourist map which includes an index of place names with map co-ordinates and city maps of Belfast and Dublin. Now, all you have to do is scrimp, save, book, and pack!

These are fascinating. These are cast metal full size (two foot six inches long and eight inches wide) replica Irish Roadsigns. They are custom made, so you have to order ahead. They have a large range of placenames (authentically made in English and Irish). The distance is from the US.
Can you get the distance from Australia? South Africa? Argentina? - we don't know, ask them.

Proudly show your County and display its unique Crest in their full, glorious colours. Can be attached to bottom of official license plate, or in place of front plate where none is required.

Maps

Of course, you will need Maps. Ireland may appear small but you can still become thoroughly lost. Admittedly, it may be much more enjoyable to stop and ask. You may or may not be helped with directions but you'll hear some wit and gain a new perspective.
If you do not plan to drive in a major city, you can get by with a regional map (North, South, East or West). If you do drive in any large city, you should also have a street map. We consider the following the only candidates: Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Limerick; possibly Galway City and Waterford. In thinking it over, if you plan to walk any of these towns, a street map is necessary.

The Galway Hooker

This unique vessel, with its distinctive curved lines and bright red sails, originated in the village of Claddagh. During the 19th century, hookers supported a significant fishing industry and also carried goods, livestock and fuel. Seán Rainey is remembered for building the last of the original boats, the Truelight, for Martin Oliver who was to become the last king of the Claddagh; as king, he was entitled to white sails on his boat. Since the mid seventies, many of the old sailing craft which were on the verge of extinction have been lovingly restored and new ones have been built. During the summer months they can be seen at festivals such a Cruinniú na mBád - the Gathering of the Boats - in Kinvara.
